CPD needs to investigate their own officers

I was looking at the 9:00 p.m. news (only because I have a current events quiz 2mrw for my copy editing class, usually I get my news from online) and I saw the most disturbing story. So obviously Chicago police are investigating a racists phone call that is reportedly between 2 Chicago Police officers and Obama name was brought up in the conversation. What bothered me the most is that this is Obama's home town. He shouldn't have to deal with this here where he has raised his kids and started his life before moving in the white house. They are saying that there were no explicit threats against the president but still....come on now. Now CPD are investigating their own. All of this would happen when Obama is suppose to come home for the weekend.

This is getting Crazy!

I know people are tired of hearing about this Chris Brown and Rihanna situation just as much as I am. But the thing that is bothering me is how the media is making Chris Brown look so bad and making Rihanna such a victim. I do believe in a man should never hit a woman no matter what but if you think about it, he had a reason for doing it. I'm not saying that he was right for his actions but I am saying that there is a reason for everything. There are so many stories out there now say ing that she gave him herpes and if thats the case, I would hit somebody too. That's something you just don't play about and it's your life and if that is the case, I don't blame him. Then there is the rumor where Rihanna smacked Chris upside his head all the time when she got mad at him and that she always was hitting him when she got mad but all girls know that there is just some things you don't do to your man. If I was him, I would have gotten tired of her hitting me upside my head all the time too. And if that's the case, one day he was gone snap becuz he kept letting it go and it just kept building up and finally he let it all out.

Whatever the case may be, I just wish the media would stop downplaying Chris Brown. No one knows the full story so they shouldn't report what they don't know for a fact. As an aspiring journalist, I that' the #1 thing we talk about in class and that's never put out something that you can't confirm with your source. First, you can get sued. Second, it start all crazy rumors like now and gets to the point where you don't know what to believe. That's why I want to start my own magazine and report about the REAL stuff and even if I don't have a story I won't cave into writing a crazy story like the ones that are out here now and just give my opinion. I'm all about fact but if I don't have them, I WILL be giving my opinion.

Until next time, TTYL everyone and Happy Valentine's Day ♥ ♥ ♥

This is just crazy

I was on Concreteloop.com the other day and saw an article that really bothered me. A 10-year-old boy was found dead in the bathroom in his school. He was found hanging from a bathroom hook and autopsy reports say the cause of his death was suicide. Myself, honestly doesn't think it was suicide. With the way kids are today in these schools and how mean and cruel they can be, I don't doubt one second that this could possibly be some form of bullying. The parents of the boy don't think he would have done this to himself. I think this is just crazy. Hopefully, things in this world will start looking up.

Well I'm done for now but until then ttyl!

First Time Blogging!

So....I actually think that my first blog is very interesting. I am a journalism major at Columbia College Chicago and I'm taking this class called Writing and Reporting, which is 6 hours long....I know....6 hours is a long time but it's worth 6 credit hours and every journalism student need to take it in order to take other journalism classes so I guess it's better to take the class now then later but anyway...Wednesday, which is when I have that class we went to 26th and California. The purpose of this was because our assignment to write a story on a murder trial. We went and sat in on an actual murder trial that was going on I thought it would be different from what I saw. I guess I was looking for something more Hollywood and what I usually see on TV but for the most part it was entertaining. Even got m to the point where I wouldn't mind being a crime reporter just to sit in on the different trials. Anyway, I thought that was a very interesting day for me.

More to come.......
